Just a thought, maybe this tribe should be for those who just love Jean Pierre-Jeunet, what do you all think? I love Amelie and it's my favorite flick, but hes an amazing filmmaker and maybe it would open this tribe up to more discussions.

So, when I took English 195, Film as Art, I watched Amelie as part of an assignment. It caught my emotions so much I bought the dvd. So...

What attributes do you assign to what color? (I did my paper on the topic.)

You know you're a RomComer if...
...you know the exact context for "You had me at hello," "We were on a break!" or "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife"
...you've had the argument about whether men and women can be friends without sex getting in the way
...during a totally humiliating situation, you pause to think, "I'm having a Bridget Jones moment."
...you and your friends have identified which "Sex and the City" character you most relate to
...you like Adam Sandler...when he's working with Drew Barrymore

JOIN THE TRIBE to discuss, recommend, vent, envy, or rewrite your favorite RomComs

Is anyone else here annoyed at the Travelocity commercials featuring a gnome traveling to different places? It is a total 'Amelie' rip-off and everytime I see, it angers me a little! :-)

Amelie et Delicatessen, le difference?

Bonjour a tout le monde!
I am writing a research paper on Jeunet's two most famous masterpieces, Delicatessen and Amelie. I am trying to discuss the use of surrealism in both movies - how a magic of sorts is used in the cinematography and what kind of effect that has on it's audience? Have any of you also seen Delicatessen? If not, and you liked Amelie, I highly recommend renting it. Be warned however, that you are not in for another Amelie. Delicatessen is grossly different, but if you appreciate the surrealism in Amelie, I think you will enjoy watching it if you can have an open mind. As far as I know, it is still only available on VHS here in the US. Anyway, if any of you have any ideas or suggestions - please let me know.
